Joretta Lou (Ellis) Hurley

Joretta Lou Ellis Hurley, 93, of Troy passed away Friday, December 27, 2024 at her residence.

A graveside service will be held Monday, December 30, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Macedonia Church Cemetery of Abner, officiated by Rev. Bill Knapp. The family will receive friends after the service at the cemetery.

Born June 5, 1931, in Rockingham County, she was the daughter of the late Edison Brooks and Irene Amanda Walker Ellis. Joretta enjoyed spending time with her husband, gardening, working in her yard, and going places with her church family.

She is survived by her grandson, James Anthony Minter, II; and the Hurley family. She is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Ernest Wayne Hurley; and her son, Tony Minter.
