Johnnie Patrick (Pat) Dozier

November 29, 1944 — November 17, 2008

Johnnie Patrick "Pat" Dozier, 63, died Monday, November 17, 2008 at home after a courageous battle with cancer.

Funeral services will be held at First United Methodist Church on Wednesday, November 19 at 11:00 am, officiated by the Rev. Ralph Brown, Rev. Don Malpass, and Pastor Harry Clark. Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Park with Charles Bounds, Richard Cox, Colin McArthur, James McMillan, Don Moberg, Edward Gibson, serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are members of the Ed Guest Sunday School class.

Pat was a beloved and wonderful husband, son, brother, father, grandfather, and friend. He enjoyed being involved in the church especially teaching Sunday school and being an Emmaus member.

He is survived by his wife, Harriet McCormick Dozier; three sons, Pat Dozier, Jr. of Wilmington, Kevin Dozier and wife Sarah of Raleigh, and Paul Dozier of Mooresville; two daughters, Alyson Dozier of Charlotte, and Ashley Dozier of Chapel Hill; three granddaughters, Taylor Marie Dozier, Alexandra Paige Dozier, Caroline Grace Dozier, and one grandson, Gavin Patrick Dozier; brother Bobby Dozier and wife Joan of Spring Hope; sister Janet Wallace; and mother Mary Dozier of Laurinburg.

Born on November 29, 1944 in Mullins, SC, he was a son of Mary Coleman Dozier and the late Johnnie Parham Dozier. Pat graduated from Laurinburg High in 1963. He worked many years in the car business with his wife then later found his passion in farming. His love for golf brought him many treasured friendships and special memories with his sons. Other hobbies included fishing, playing with his grandchildren, traveling, and politics. All who knew him loved his easygoing and genuine spirit.
The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.
