Johnnie Fernandez Hardy, 62, passed away at home on Thursday, August 1, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday at the McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium Chapel officiated by the Rev. Dr. Jeffrey McGirt. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery.
He is survived by his daughters, Jenny Thomas (Cecil) of Panama City, FL and Melissa Keyes Upchurch (Jimmy) of Willow Springs; his mother, Emma Pittman Hardy Wade of Laurinburg; his sister, Jackie Ford (Tommy) of Laurinburg; his companion, Marline Kerr of Laurinburg, his grandchildren, Melissa, Davy, and Robin Mae Thomas, James Walker and Amelia Danielle Upchurch, his nephews, Jason Evans and Mitch Burroughs; and his nieces, Christie Hagen and Emma Evans.
Born October 15, 1950 in Scotland County, he was also a son of the late Rudolph Hardy and brother of the late Sharon Hardy Evans. Johnnie was a well-known hair stylist early in his career, and until his illness was employed with Captain D's in Laurinburg.

Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 Friday at the McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.
