John McLeod Sanders, 82, formerly of Bennettsville died February 16, 2013 at Life Care Gwinnett in Lawrenceville, GA.
He was born December 11, 1931 in Bennettsville, a son of the late Braxton Bragg and Densy Sanders. He was a graduate of Bennettsville High School, served in the US army in Germany and owned and operated the Marlboro Exxon Service Station on Main St. until his retirement. He was also the widower of the late June M Sanders.
He is survived by a step-daughter, Iris Earl, a nephew, Braxton B. Sanders, IV (Martha), great nephew, Jonathan Sanders (Amy) and Matthew Sanders. He was preceded in death by his brother, B. B. Sanders, III.
A graveside service was 2 p.m. Sunday at Hillside Cemetery, Laurinburg.
McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium is serving the family.
