John Philip Rieg

John Philip Rieg, 69, of Rockingham, passed away on September 3, 2023, after a valiant battle with lung cancer. He was born on May 28, 1954, in Rockingham, NC, the son of the late Philip Blaine Rieg and Annie Ruth Rieg.

John leaves behind a daughter Marianne Gaskins (Robert), daughter Jeannie Ray (Chris), granddaughter Lauren,18, grandson Will, 15; and granddaughter Charlotte,2;  sister Pat, cousin Eddie, and little Ava.

Throughout the years John served as a volunteer fireman in Laurinburg, NC. He also enjoyed many hobbies such as carving, woodworking, fishing, and watercolor painting. For the last several years he has loved being a part of the Griffin Nissan team in Rockingham.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
