John Ray Greene, 98, of Scotia Village and formerly of Rockingham passed away Saturday, April 27, 2013 at Scotland Memorial Hospital.
Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Richmond Memorial Park, Rockingham.
He was born August 25, 1914 in Montgomery County, NC he was a son of the late Ausey L. and Jennie Hutchison Green. John was an avid golfer and a member of the Richmond Pines Country Club. Prior to his retirement from Springs Mills in Laurel Hill, he had a life-long career in textiles.
He is survived by several cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Greene.
Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.
