John Walter Peele, 72, died Sunday, January 17, 2010 at his home.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Central United Methodist Church officiated by the Rev. Dr. Robert Dean. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Park.
He is survived by his daughter, Lynn Peele and her companion, Todd Rodgers of East Laurinburg; two brothers, Joe Peele of Hamlet and Harold Peele of Laurinburg; five sisters, Margie Medlock, Martha McDaniel, and Doris Morton of Laurinburg, Jean Nemerov of Fayetteville and Ruby Carnahan of San Antonio, TX; a grandson, Adam Peele of the home.
Born October 7, 1937 in Scotland County, he was a son of the late Thomas and Addie Mae Clark Peele. He served with Waverly Mills for 42 years, retiring as a supervisor. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing and just about doing anything outside – especially piddling.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Central United Methodist Church.
