Mr. John Wesley Monroe., 65, of Crawford Street, died Friday, June 16, at Wilson Medical Center.
A funeral service will be 4:00 p.m. Thursday at McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium Chapel officiated by Rev. Howard Hardin. Burial will follow in Oak G rove Cemetery, Maxton.
He is survived by his wife, Peggie McCumbee Monroe; two daughters, Mary Monroe Bunyard and husband, Richard W. of Laurinburg and Theresa Lynn Monroe Polston and husband, Jeffrey L. Polston of Holly Springs, NC; one brother, William Harold (Bill) Monroe of Laurinburg; four grandchildren, Roger B. "Ben" Aldrich, III, David Allen Tilson, Jonathan Douglas Polston, Crystal Victoria Polston.
Born December 13, 1940 in Scotland County, he was a son of the late Daniel Alton and Vera Marguerite Rush Monroe. He was a retired co-owner of X-Way Milling Company.
