Mr. John Malloy McLean, 70, of 17400 Arch McLean Road died Monday, November 7, at Scotland Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Thursday at Old Laurel Hill Presbyterian Church officiated by the Rev. Dr. Howard Whitehurst. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery.
He is survived his wife, Sylvia McRae McLean; a son, John M. McLean, Jr. and wife, April of Laurinburg; two daughters, Martha Anne McLean Osborne and husband, David of Charlotte and Sherry McLean McQuage and husband, Tony of Laurinburg; a brother, Archie McLean and wife, Frances of Wagram; three grandchildren, Ian Osborne, Devan Osborne, and Erin Osborne of Charlotte.
Born September 5, 1935 in Cumberland County, he was a son of the late Archibald M. and Mary Dunlap McLean.
John attended NC State University and served in the US Army and the National Guard. He was a career farmer and a licensed general contractor, electrician, and plumber. He was a past president of the Scotland County Homebuilders Association, the Planning and Zoning Board, and the Wagram Mena
