John Wesley Leather

Mr. John Wesley Leather, 82, of 2200 Elm Avenue, formerly of Wintergreen, VA, died Wednesday, July 5, at Scotland Memorial Hospital.
Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the Morris Morgan Room, Scotia Village officiated by the Rev. Dr. Tom Dendy, Rev. Robert Dendy and Rev. Bill Wells.
He is survived by his wife, Florence M. Leather; a son, John Edward Leather and wife, Donna of Monterey, CA; a daughter, Carole Walters and husband Scott of Jacksonville, FL; one grandchild, Coleton S. Walters.
Born September 11, 1923 in Patterson, NJ, he was a son of the late Andrew and Alberta Hubbard Leather. He retired after 37 years as an engineer with AT&T Bell Labs. He attended the College of Paterson, NJ, the RCA Institute and the Newark College of Engineering. Mr. Leather was in the US Coast Guard and served in the Pacific Theatre during WWII. He attended Trinity Presbyterian Church.
