John "John Boy" Keven Hopkins

John “John Boy” Keven Hopkins, 62, passed away Friday, September 4, 2020 at his residence.

The family will receive friends at Bumgarner Family Funeral Service and Crematorium on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 from 5:00 -7:00 p.m.   Due to Covid-19 restrictions, attendance for the visitation will be monitored.  All attendees must wear a mask or face covering.  Services will be private.

Born January 20, 1958 in Wayne County, MI, he was a son of the late Jimmie and Ora Blair Hopkins.  He was a welder with Butler Manufacturing.  John Boy enjoyed reading, western movies, good music and was a motorcycle mechanic.  He loved his family, especially his two grandchildren.  He was kind and loving and loved to cook for his family.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, June Sharon Clark Hopkins of the home; a daughter, Jennifer Lynn Hopkins (Kelly) of Laurinburg; a son, John Keven Hopkins, II of Laurinburg; a sister, Rhonda Ward (Jimmy) of Fuquay Varina; two grandchildren, Thomas Hunter Hopkins of Greenville, NC and Isabella Marie Hopkins of Laurinburg; a niece, Amie Graham (Randall); a great niece, Ayla Graham; and numerous cousins.  He is preceded in death by his sister, Frances Orme.

Bumgarner Family Funeral Service and Crematorium is serving the family.
