Jimmie (Jimi) Sandra Taylor Stone Boggan died on Friday, January 15, 2010 at Morrison Manor in Laurinburg, NC.

She was born on May 17, 1937 in Lumberton, North Carolina, the daughter of the late Howard Foard Taylor and Mary Edna Haselden Taylor . She was preceeded in death by three husbands, Heyward W. Taylor, D. Langdon Stone, and Henry S. Boggan.

Jimi attended Maxton High School and, after her marriage to Heyward W. Taylor, lived in Laurinburg and then Hamlet, NC for many years. She returned to Laurinburg, NC in 1973 and was married to D. Langdon Stone for nearly 25 years. Following his death, she lived in Nokomis, Florida where she worked with Venice-Nokomis United Methodist Church as Reception Hostess and Children's Coordinator Assistant. She also volunteered as a trainer for new hospice volunteers for Charlotte County Hospice in Florida. She returned to Charlotte, NC and was married to Henry S. Boggan - "Hello Henry" of WBT radio and a lifelong family friend. She returned to Laurinburg following his death in 2006.

She dedicated her life to her children and her husbands as well as playing surrogate mom to many homesick St. Andrews' students, volunteering with the Children's Programs at Scotland County Memorial Library, as a volunteer with Hospice of Scotland County, an informal advocate for many area children living in difficult situations, and the caregiver of many cats both "adopted" by her and those that "God sent to the door." She was a long-time member of St. Luke United Methodist Church in Laurinburg and became a member of Venice-Nokomis United Methodist Church while living in Florida. She was affectionately known as "Miss Jimi" to many friends, especially the friends of her children to whom she always opened her home and her kitchen. She was "Miss Granny" to her grandchildren and their friends.

She is survived by her daughters Mary Sandra Taylor of Laurinburg, Robin Taylor Deegan and husband, Mark of Nokomis, Florida, and Jennifer Stone Ward and husband, Dennis of Laurinburg, and grandchildren Holly Deegan Erskine and husband Darin of High Springs, Florida, Liana Joy Deegan of Nokomis, Florida, Heydon and Mira Grace Ward of Laurinburg, NC, Cherie V. Petersen and husband Paul of Salt Lake City, Utah and great-grandsons, Christian and Chase Petersen.

Visitation will be at McDougald Funeral Home from 5-7 PM on Tuesday, January 19, 2010 with a memorial service at McDougald Chapel immediately following at 7:00 PM. Interment will be held at a later date at Oak Grove Cemetary in Maxton, NC.

The family wishes to acknowledge the staff at Hospice of Scotland County and requests that, in lieu of flowers, gifts be made to Hospice of Scotland County, PO Box 1033, Laurinburg, NC 28353 designated for the Family Caregiver Support Program (COG) without whose support we could not have remained at home for the last 2 1/2 years, as well as the in-home care provided by Hospice staff and at Morrison Manor over the last several weeks. Gifts may also be made to the Scotland County Humane Society.

She was much loved and will forever be missed.
