Jessie May (Burns) Jackson

Jessie May Jackson, 78, formerly of Maxton, passed away on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at Westwood Skilled Nursing and Rehab Center in Fort Walton Beach, FL.

A graveside service will be 3:00 pm Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at Oak Grove Cemetery in Maxton, officiated by Rev. Howard Harding.  A visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday, August 13, 2018 at McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.

Born December 27, 1939 in Robeson County, she was a daughter of the late Jesse Benton and Norma McDowell Burns.

She is survived by her sons, John Wayne Jackson (Theresa) of Ft. Walton Beach, FL and Vernon Jackson, Jr. (Fronie) of Laurinburg; her sisters, Lina Young of Rock Hill, SC and Betty Ann Currie of Raeford; six grandchildren, Ashley Jackson, John Jackson Jr., Shelby Jennings, Megan Hunt, Jordan Hunt and Natalee Jackson; and additional family members and friends.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Lee Jackson, her sister, Helen Priest and her brother, Robert “Bobby” Burns.

McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium is serving the family.
