Jerry Randall Shumate, 79, passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2020 at Scotland Memorial Hospital.
Born April 15, 1941 in Smyth County, VA, he was a son of the late Jesse Shumate and Elsie Bourne Shumate. He was a veteran of the US Air Force and a crane operator.
He is survived by his son, Chris T. Shumate of Orlando, FL; two daughters, Shannon Perkins of Chattanooga, TN and Tamry Martinez of Spring City, TN; six grandchildren, Mark Owen Shumate, Sammy Shumate, Kyle Eric Perkins, Victoria Vanderwall, Jacqulin Martinez and Trayson Chadwick; two sisters, Connie Russell of Sarasota, FL and Debra Brittton of Richmond, VA. He is preceded in death by a sister, Cindy Collins.
No services are planned.
