Jerry Chavis, 59, passed away Friday, March 22, 2013 at the Hospice Haven in Rockingham.
A memorial service will be 4:00 p.m. Tuesday at McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium Chapel officiated by Calvin Ramsey.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Ramsey Chavis; his sons, Frank Sessoms of Bennettsville, Daniel Chavis and Jeremy Chavis of Wadesboro; his daughters, Ashley Chavis and Holly Chavis of Wadesboro; his brothers, Willie Barton of Maxton and Timothy Barton of Laurinburg; his sister, Rose Marie Woods of Laurinburg; 6 grandchildren.
Born November 21, 1953 in Scotland County, he was a son of the late Charlie Callahan and Mary Frances Chavis.
He was a mechanic for Wal-mart, and loved fishing and hunting. He had a great sense of humor and loved his children and grandchildren.
