A memorial service for Jeannine Voss Farahani will be held at Hillside Memorial Cemetery on Sunday, April 3, at 2 PM. Jeannine died after a long illness in the Adler Center for Caring, a hospice in Aldie, VA. on January 19. She was cremated and her remains will be buried this weekend next to her parents Nell and F. G. Voss at Hillside Cemetery.
Born 06/07/1942 , Jeannine, along with her brother Gwyn and sister Libby, was raised on a tobacco farm near Laurinburg, NC.
The family attended Old Laurel Hill Presbyterian Church for several years. Jeannine loved to sing and sang in the church choir. When she went to Guilford College, in Greensboro, N.C., among her many activities, she continued her love of singing and sang in the college choir all 4 years.
Jeannine graduated from Guilford and went on to get a Master's degree from UNC-Chapel Hill. She was a teacher in the Georgia and Washington State Public Schools. She then worked for the federal government as a contracting specialist in the Defense Department in Virginia until retirement.
She is survived by her husband Ali Farahani, her brother Gwyn and sister Libby and several nieces and nephews.
