She is survived by: sons, Richard Bates of Castle Pines, CO, Gene Bates of Alexandria, VA; daughters, Cheryl McCann of Stoney Point, NC, Dawn Reynolds of Laurinburg, NC; sister, Shirley Bierly of CA; 13 grandchildren, 21 great- grandchildren, 2 great great-grandchildren.
She was born August 29, 1930 in Waterbury, CT to the late Samuel and Frances Bogorad Brown. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Richard Bates, and a sister, Frieda Brown.
McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium is serving the family.
