Mrs. Janie Taylor Ikner Shepherd, 91, formerly of Second Street died Sunday, June 6, at Britthaven of Hamlet.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium Chapel officiated by the Rev. Russell Baker. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Park.
She is survived by her daughter, Christine McDaniel of Statesville; four step-sons, Marion Shepherd of High Point, Richard Shepherd of Southport, Mark Shepherd of Mapleton, GA, and Chalmers Shepherd of Fountain Valley, CA; a step-daughter, Joann S. Johnson of Kennesaw, GA; 18 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren.
Born April 3, 1913 in Dillon, SC, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary McCormick Taylor and widow of the late Rue Ikner and Bardon Shepherd. She was a retired employee of Springs Mills.
Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church building fund, PO Box 1958, Laurinburg, NC 28353 or Hospice of Scotland County, PO Box 1033, Laurinburg, NC 28353.
Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.
