James Edward Watts

James “Jack” Edward Watts, age 84, passed away Friday, January 28, 2022 at Cone Health Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at Rachels Chapel Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Betty Mears.  Due to COVID-19, masks are recommended and please practice social distancing.

Jack was born February 5, 1937, in Richmond County to the late Duke and Ola Sellers Watts.  He served in the US Navy from 1954-1957 and worked in the textiles industry.  He loved chewing his tobacco and talking to people. He never met a stranger.

He is survived by his son, James Duke Watts of McLeansville, NC; and his two daughters, Gail Lambert of Reidsville, NC and Sandra Dover of Winder, GA; four grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his wife, Aileen Williams Watts; his step-son, Winford Nelson; two grandchildren and numerous brothers and sisters.
