Laurel Hill
James Clyde "Killroy" Sessom, 62, passed away at his residence after an extended illness.
A graveside service with military honors will be 4:00 p.m. Saturday at the Sessom Family Cemetery on Cliff Gibson Road officiated by the Rev. Nelson Bailey.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Moorehead Sessom; his sons, Eugene Sessom (Mandy) of Laurel Hill and Billy Ward of Dade City, FL; his daughter, Edith Sessom (Shawn) and Cathy Clark (Robbie) of Laurel Hill; his mother, Edith Chavis Gibson (Daniel) of Bennettsville; his brother, Frank Chavis (Peggy) of Clio; his sisters, Gloria Caulder (J. D.) of Bennettsville, Tammy Brigman (Jesse) of McColl, Mikki Caulder (Charles) of Laurel Hill, and Bonnie Jordan (Andy) of Lillington; his grandchildren; Dewayne Locklear, Dakota Locklear, Catherine Sessom, and Jackson Sheffield of Laurel Hill, Scott Ward, Dallas Ward, and Dillon Ward of Dade City, Crystal Ford of Laurel hill and Candice King of Norwood FL; 7 great grandchildren.
Born September 13, 1949 in Marlboro County, he was also a son of the late Clyde Jackson Sessom. He served in the US Army in Vietnam from 1969 until 1971 and loved working outdoors. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Friday at the McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.
