Mr. James Sebert Gibson, 84, of Johns Road, died Wednesday, November 30 at Century Care.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Friday at the First Baptist Church officiated by the Rev. Dr. L.D. Kimrey. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Park.
Mr. Gibson was born August 13, 1921 in Scotland County, a son of the late James and Ina Herndon Gibson. He served in the US Army from 1942-1945. Mr. Gibson retired from the Ingram Clock Company ( Toastmaster) after 25 years. After his retirement he enjoyed gardening.
He is survived by his wife, Katherine D. Gibson of the home; one son, James S. "Sonny" Gibson, Jr. of Laurinburg; one grandchild, E. Paul Barber of Laurinburg; three step grandchildren, Crystal Wright, Misty Strickland and Charlie Stroud; two great grandchildren, Andrew Blake Barber and Matthew Shane Barber; three step great grandchildren, Adam Wright, Donovan Wright and Dakota Oxendine. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Judy G. Kirby.
