James Colon “Nook” Blue, 86, passed away Sunday June 19, 2016 at Randolph Hospice House.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 412 Bell Street, Troy, NC. Burial will follow with Military Honors provided by Randolph County Honor Guard in McRae Family Cemetery.
Born June 24, 1929 in Montgomery County, he was a son of the late Walter C. Blue and Lillie Alexander Blue. Nook was a veteran of the US Army and retired from Allen Motor Company with 47 years of service. He was a devoted father and grandfather to his family whom he loved dearly.
Nook was also preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Flora Roberts “Bobbie” Blue, brothers Bob Blue and June Blue; and sister Peggy Workman.
He is survived by: his son, James C. “Jimmy” Blue, II (Marsha) of Troy, NC; daughter, Karen Blue Moore (Rick) of Mt. Gilead, NC; brothers Calvin Blue, Grovetown, GA, Ty Blue, Troy, NC and Bill Blue, Mt. Gilead, NC; sister Katherine Orensby, Wilmington, NC; three grandchildren and one great grandchild.
The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Tabernacle Baptist Church.
