James Larry Moore

James “Larry” Moore, 84, of Seagrove passed away Saturday, August 1, 2026 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Friday, August 21, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Union Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Seagrove, officiated by Pastor Ron Chaney. 

Born January 10, 1942, in Moore County, he was the son of the late Clifford and Bertie Scott Moore. Larry was employed as a dye house supervisor with Russell Hosiery/Fruit of the Loom/ Renfro, LLC for many years before his retirement. If you knew Larry, you knew he was never in a hurry or got excited about anything. Larry enjoyed spending his time making pottery and gardening.

He is survived by his daughter, Karen Loggains (Kevin) of Asheboro; son, Michael Moore (Karen) of Durham; sister, Peggy Sturdivant of Robbins; grandchildren, Luke and Conor; many nieces and nephews; and specials friends, Shelia Reynolds, Kathryn Crouch and his close neighbors. He is preceded in death by his wife of many years, Betty Lou Teague Moore; brothers, Clifford Moore, Bill Moore, Charles Moore, and Harvey Moore; and sisters, Henrietta Garner, and Margaret Cockman.
