Mr. James Edwin "Jim" Milligan, 79, of Scotia Village died Tuesday, March 9, at Scotia Village.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday at the First United Methodist Church officiated by the Rev. Dr. Stan Smith and the Rev. Nancy Willard. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Park.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Doris Bowie Milligan; two sons, Mike Milligan of Mount Airy and Steve Milligan of Raleigh; a daughter, Kathie Billing of Boone; two brothers, David Milligan of Boiling Springs and Francis Milligan of Atlanta; eight grandchildren, Kevin Milligan, Benjie Milligan, Kelly Milligan, Shayne Milligan, Mallie Billing, Maggie Billing, Shannon Billing, and Emily Billing; a great grandchild, Ramsey Milligan. He was preceded in death by a brother, William Milligan.
Born August 6, 1924 in Drayton, SC he was a son of the late William J. and Bessie Waldrop Milligan. Jim was a US Navy veteran of World War II and a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a degree in business administration. He began with the Spartanburg Herald a
