James Walen Lineberry, age 33, passed away Friday, July 17, 2026 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 25, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. at the Love Joy Church Arbor in Troy, officiated by Dr. Casey Harris, Rev. Mark Daniel Atkins, and Nick Brown. The family will receive friends in the church one hour prior to the service in the Arbor.

Born November 20, 1992, in Moore County, he is a son of Jennifer Thompson Lineberry of Troy and Charles Lineberry of Biscoe. Walen had earned his biology degree as a Wildlife Specialist at Western Carolina University. He loved being outdoors and enjoying all nature provided. Walen liked to fish, hunt, being around animals, gardening, planting vegetables and wild flowers, sports, and he loved playing baseball. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends.

Along with his parents, he is survived by his brother, Weston Lee Lineberry of Troy; and maternal grandmother, Peggy Anne Haywood Thompson of Troy. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Bobby Walen Thompson.
