James William "Jim" Jewell

Mr. James William "Jim" Jewell, 60, of 13361 Wesleyan Drive died Thursday, December 14, 2006 at his home.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, December 18, at the First United Methodist Church, officiated by the Rev. Dr. Stan Smith and the Rev. Nancy Willard. Burial and committal service with military honors will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Grand View Memorial Gardens in Travelers Rest, SC.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Joyce Mitchell Jewell; daughter, Heather Leigh Jewell of New York, NY; mother, Lois Bates Jewell of Greenville, SC; and sister, Linda Jewell Tanner of Simpsonville, SC.
Jim was born on September 6, 1946 in Travelers Rest to Lois Bates Jewell and the late William Arthur Jewell. He was an active member of the First United Methodist Church, a family man, and an avid golfer. He was a retired senior sales representative in the textile industry, having worked with Crompton & Knowles and Clariant Corporation. Jim joined the US Navy in 1966 and served two tours of active duty and was a reservist for 17 years.
The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the funeral.
