Mr. James B. Jackson, Jr., 65, of 16961 Barnes Drive died Monday, June 26, at his residence.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium Chapel with Revs. Quinton Covington and Legrande Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Park.
Born July 29, 1934 in Scotland County he was the son of the late James B. and Geneva Gibson Jackson, Sr. Retired owner and operator of Jackson Transport and Leasing from 1961 to 1999, J.B. served as vice president of Scotland Transfer, Inc. He also owned and operated the former Dixie Oil Company. A member of Central United Methodist Church, he was also a former member of the Central United Methodist Men.
Survivors include his wife, Louise Baker Jackson of the home; a son, James L. Jackson and wife Becky of Laurel Hill; three daughters, Linda J. Haire of Aberdeen, Arlene J. McQueen and husband Chesley of Laurel Hill, and Sarah J. Esola and husband Andy of Olive Branch, MS; a brother, Stacy W. Jackson of Laurinburg; a sister, Geraldine J. Clanin of Laurinburg; and one grandson, Jordan McQueen of Laurel Hill.
