James Samuel Hancock, Jr.

James Samuel Hancock, Jr., 60, passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro.

Services will be held at a later date for James and his brother, John who passed away last year on October 23, 2023.

Born January 17, 1964, in Montgomery County, he was a son of the late James Samuel and Lula Mae Butler Hancock. James was a big Carolina Panthers fan and loved going to the beach. He never met a stranger and would help anyone that needed it.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Parrish Hancock of Seagrove; daughter, Savanna Brower (John, Jr.) of Asheboro; son, Gary Eaton (Brittany) of Rockingham; sisters, Margaret Lemons, Edna Marie Callicutt, Elaine Sanders, Mary Hamilton, and Donna Thompson, all of Montgomery County; brothers, J.R. Hancock of Troy, and Jerry Hancock of NV; and grandchildren, Hailey Brower, and John Brower, III. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Curtis Lemons and John P. Hancock; and sister, Judy Sanders.
