Mr. James Ira Dameron, 57, of 11800 Cypress Drive died Friday, February 12, at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.
A memorial service will be 4 p.m. Monday at the Laurinburg Pentecostal Holiness Church officiated by the Revs. Jerry Wilkes and Kenneth Blease.
Burial will be 4 p.m. Wednesday at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, VA.
He is survived by his wife, Patsy Alice Stout Dameron; two sons, James W. Dameron of Laurinburg and Mark S. Dameron of Maxton; his mother, Bertha Whitt Dameron of Kingsport, TN; three brothers, Jack Dameron and Aaron Dameron of Tazwell, Va and Jerry Dameron of Blountville, TN; a sister, Sandra D. Wallace of Laurinburg; a brother-in-law, George Stout of Elkton, MD; a sister-in-law, Rita Ann Stout of War, WV; one grandson, Brandon M. Dameron of Maxton.
He was born February 18, 1941 in Yukon, WV and was a son of Bertha Whitt Dameron and the late Aubrey Earnest "Sport" Dameron. He served with the US Army and was a former machinist for National Twist Drill in Maxton.
