Mr. James D. Pearson, 75, of 14860 Hargrave Street died Sunday, April 18, at his residence.
A funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Laurel Hill United Methodist Church officiated by the Rev. Keith Brown and Dr. Rodger Decker. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Park.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth "Lib" Pearson; two sons, Ricky Pearson and wife, Jo Ann of Laurel Hill, Jerry Pearson and wife, Wanda of Laurinburg; one sister, Joyce Thomason of Cameron, NC; 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
He was born October 28, 1928 in Scotland County and was a son of the late James Dewey Pearson and Sadie Smith Pearson Stevens, and stepson of the late Bryant Stevens. He was a loyal member of the Laurel Hill United Methodist Church where he was available to do whatever the church needed. Mr. Pearson was retired as a master mechanic superintendent from J. P. Stevens.
