James Steven Conklin, Sr.

James Steven Conklin, Sr., age 68, passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2024, at Scotland Memorial Hospital.

Services will be private.

Born March 18, 1956 in Alamance County, he was a son of the late James Parker Conklin and Shirley Lowe Conklin.

Outside of working at Spring Hill Recycling, James, was an avid collector of comic books and he enjoyed reading.  His greatest treasure was his grandchildren and he loved spending time with them.

He is survived by his son, James Steven Conklin, II, and his wife, Aimee, of Gloucester Point, VA; his daughter, Brandi Conklin, and her husband, Bobby, of Marston; his brothers, Mike Conklin (sons, Shawn and Justin Conklin and daughter Bryttney Williams) and Greg Conklin (son, Cody Conklin and daughter, Meghan Thompson) both of Laurinburg; his sister, Lisa Strickland (daughter, Tiffany Strickland) of Shallotte; and his grandchildren, Anthony, Ethan, Emillie, Alex, Ian, Zachary and Brendan..

Bumgarner Family Funeral Service and Crematorium is assisting the Conklin family.
