Mr. James Alexander Bracey, 89, of 1705 Anita Drive died Sunday, October 9, at Britthaven of Hamlet.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium Chapel officiated by the Revs. Jim Bumgardner and Mack McMillan. Burial will be in Ashpole Cemetery, Rowland.

He is survived by two sons, Ernest Bracey of La Quinta, CA and Bill Bracey of Brandon, MN; three daughters, Anne Lewellen of Tulsa, OK, Bettie Pope of Martinsville, VA, and Elaine Ferree of Climax; 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Born July 13, 1916 in Robeson County, he was a son of the late James A. and Annie McLean Bracey. He was a US Navy veteran of World War II and a retired civil service employee at Seymour Johnson AFB near Goldsboro. He was also the Past Master of Masonic Lodge #208 AF & AM of Mount Olive.
