James A.G. Beales, Iii

James Alfred Geaves Beales, III, 94 of Laurinburg, passed away on Monday, March 19, 2018 at Morrison Manor.

A memorial service will be held by the family at 11:00 am Saturday, March 24, 2018 at St. David’s Episcopal Church, Cheraw, SC officiated by the Rev. William D. Oldland.

Born October 2, 1923 in Fairfield County, CT, he was a son of the late James Alfred Geaves Beales, Jr. and Helen Cornelius Beales. He retired from Prudential Securities in Philadelphia PA where he served as Vice President of Investments. Mr. Beales was also a professional writer and wrote a weekly column for the Cheraw Chronicle.

He is survived by one daughter, Diane Beales Lobaugh of Baroda, MI; sons, Jefferson Davis Beales of Bethlehem, PA and Jonathan T. Beales of Atlanta GA; sister, Mary Beales Bradberry of NH; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his wife. Margaret Haskins Beales.
