Isaac Elbert Smith

December 11, 1955 — July 8, 2025

Randleman

Isaac Elbert Smith, 69, of Randleman, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday July 8, 2025, at Randolph Health Hospital in Asheboro.

A funeral service will be held Friday, July 11, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Bumgarner Family Funeral Service Chapel in Troy, officiated by Dr. Bruce Dickerson and Pastor Harold McMillian. Burial will follow at the Macedonia Church of Abner Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. – 1:45 p.m. prior to the service in the chapel.

Born on December 11, 1955, in Grayson County, VA, he was the son of the late Luther and Drucy Elizabeth Poe Smith. Isaac was a man of great character who lived a life full of love, humility, and service to others. His life was a testament to the power of giving. He was the kind of person who would give you the shirt off his back without a second thought. His humble approach to life taught everyone around him the value of simplicity and the joy that comes from helping others. Isaac's presence was a source of comfort and security to all who knew him.

An avid outdoorsman, Isaac found solace and pleasure in the quietude of nature. Hunting and fishing were not just hobbies for him but a way of connecting with the world and creating lasting memories with friends and family. His love for the outdoors was matched only by his passion for working on cars. Many will remember how Isaac's eyes would light up as he tinkered with an engine or when he had the opportunity to solve a mechanical puzzle for someone in need.

He is survived by his son, Luther Ray Smith (Jennifer) of Star; sisters, Barbara McNeill (George), Alma Bulla, Garnetta Hall, Alice Potts (Tommy), and Cheryl Redding (Steve), all of Asheboro, and Bernice Caudill of Winston Salem; grandchildren, Mikey, Austin, Ray, Sarenity, Levi, and Maverick; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his son, Michael Garland Smith.

The family will receive friends at other times at the residence of his son, Luther Smith, at 901 Flint Hill Rd., Star, NC 27356.
