Mrs. Irish Mildred Dutch Canady, 75, of 15021 Bayfield Road died Friday, November 2, at Pinehurst Nursing Center.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. today (Monday) at Springfield Church of God officiated by the Rev. Dan Carter. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Park.
She is survived by her husband, Edwin Mack Canady of the home; a daughter, Rachel Gilbert of Pinehurst; two step-daughters, Ann Lenahan and Betty Rose Phillips of Freehold, NJ; five grandchildren, Clay Culbreth of Southern Pines, Karen Culbreth of Pinehurst, Darlene Caulder of Laurel Hill, Mike McGirt of Gastonia and Tim McGirt of Mt. Pleasant; and seven great grandchildren, Michael McGirt, Taylor McGirt Danny Caulder, Blake Caulder, Amber McGirt, Ashley McGirt, and Aaron McGirt. She was predeceased by a daughter, Mattie Sue Gilbert.
Born September 19, 1926 in Scotland County, she was a daughter of the late Belton and Mattie Turner Dutch. She was an inspector for Springs Mills for 30 years. After retirement she was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening and helping others. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
