Mrs. Irene Rogers Thompson, 84, died Friday, November 11, at the Edwin Morgan Center.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium Chapel officiated by Lee Jackson. Burial will follow in Lake View Cemetery, Lake View, SC.
She is survived by her daughters, Jeanette Bartell of Laurel Hill, Bertha Rogers and husband, Tom of Oakboro, Elizabeth Edwards and husband Harold of Oak Island, and Kitt Schisler and husband, Charles of Westminister, MD; a sister, Janie Rogers of Marion, SC, a brother, Oliver Rogers of Marion, SC; 7 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.
Born May 27, 1921 in Lake View, she was a daughter of the late Oliver L. and Mary Bullock Rogers. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Thompson; son, Carlos Thompson; son-in-law, Stanley Bartell; 9 brothers and 2 sisters.
Memorials may be made to Hospice, PO Box 1033, Laurinburg, NC 28353.
Visitation will be 1-2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
