Irene Caulder Jernigan

Mrs. Irene Caulder Jernigan, 86, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2015 at Morrison Manor.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, March 12, 2015 at Springfield Church of God followed by interment in Pine Crest Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday afternoon from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Springfield Church of God.
She was born October 14, 1928, in Scotland County to the late James E. and Carrie Love Caulder.
She is survived by; "Baby Tillie", her dog of the home; sons, Jimmy R. Jernigan, Sr. (Irene) of Laurel Hill, Dewayne Jernigan (Gracie Myers), Culbreth Jernigan, Jr. (Elizabeth), Gilbert L. Jernigan (Peggy), and Noah M. Jernigan all of Gibson, and Raffie Jernigan (Louise) of Hamlet; daughters, Vicky Corica (Mike) of Laurel Hill, and Cathy J. Caulder of Gibson; brother, Bobby Caulder (Janie) of Bennettsville, SC; sisters, Joyce Caulder , Patsy Hicks, both of Laurel Hill, and Katie Byrd of Catawba; aunts, Edith Brown of Newport, and Louise Peele of Bennettsville; 27 grandchildren, 57 great grandchildren, and 23 great-great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
She was also preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Culbreth "Dock" Jernigan, Sr; several siblings and extended family members.
Mrs. Jernigan was a member of Springfield Church of God and had worked as a CNA for many years with Scotland Memorial Hospital, and the former Morgan Center and Century Care. She loved flowers, her gold fish pond, fishing and visiting, and loved working with people.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Hospice of Scotland County, PO Box 1033, Laurinburg, NC 28353.
