Irene Elizabeth Doares Beane, age 95, passed away on October 20, 2013, at the Oaks at Mayview Convalescent Center in Raleigh, NC, after a brief illness.
Graveside service and interment will be at Hillside Cemetery in Laurinburg NC, on October 24, 2013, at 11:30 AM. A memorial service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 29 at Westover United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Beane was preceded in death by her husband, James Sidney Beane, Jr. of Laurinburg, and grandson Jeffrey Paul Schneider of Garner.
She is survived by her son, Samuel Sidney Beane; daughter and son-in-law Sally and Gerry Whitt of Raleigh, daughter and son-in-law Judy and Vince Schneider of Garner, daughter and son-in-law Jeanne and Tom Whittlesey of Apex; grandchildren Emily, Rebecca, Matt, Sam Jr., Joseph and Jennifer; great-grandson Connor.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Westover United Methodist Church, 300 Powell Drive, Raleigh, NC 27606.
