Hunter Vergil Ennis, 95, passed away on Monday, January 25, 2021 at Richmond County Hospice Haven.
A graveside service with Military Honors will be at 1:00 pm Friday, January 29, 2021 at Hillside Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Jack Lee. Due to Covid-19, please wear a mask or face covering and practice social distancing. Mr. Ennis will lie in state at Bumgarner Family Funeral Service and Crematorium on Friday, January 29, 2021 from 9 am-11:30 am for viewing.
Born August 24, 1925 in Harnett County, he was a son of the late Walter and Stella Sorrel Ennis. After serving in the US Navy, he retired from Southern Bell with 38 years of service.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Laurene Tyndall Ennis of the home; daughters, Karen Elizabeth Sartori (Karl) of Grand Bend, Ontario, Canada, and Laura Susan Brown (Terry) of Rockingham; grandchildren, Kevin James Lammonds (Johanna), Teri Beth McDonald (Lucas), and Lauren Hunter Brown (Stephen Crutchfield); step-granddaughter, Kelly Farhadian; and great grandchildren, Bessanny Lammonds, Hunter Lammonds, and Talan Stoner. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Hunter Ennis.
