Howard Mason Smith, Jr., 83, died Monday, July 14.
Funeral will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Presbyterian Church in the Pines officiated by the Rev. Dr. Gene Miller. Burial will follow in Pine Crest Cemetery.
He is survived his wife, Lucy Catherine Gibson Smith; his sons, Howard M. Smith, II of Laurinburg and Timothy G. Smith of Hoffman; his daughter, Sandra S. Holland (Donald) of Laurel Hill; his sister, Jean Guy of Dallas, GA; his grandchildren, Lee Stubbs and Andrea Stubbs of Laurel Hill and Kevin Smith of Lumberton; his great grandchildren, Jaiden Locklear and Isabella Stubbs. He was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy "Dot" Smith Ammons.
Born May 13, 1931 in Scotland County, he was a son of the late Howard M. and Eula Gibson Smith. He formerly worked in sales with Sinclair Lumber Co. and later Worked over 25 years in sales with Laurinburg Milling Company.
Memorials may be made to the Church in the Pines, PO Box 69, Laurel Hill, NC 28351.
Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.
