Mr. Howard Dean Clark, 57, of Maxton, Formally of Laurel Hill, died Monday July 11, 2011 at his home.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, July 14 at the McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium Chapel, officiated by the Rev. Larry Singletary. Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Park.
Mr. Clark is survived by his wife of 36 years, Sommai Chaisong Clark of the home; three sons, Whiteford Blue Clark and wife Summer of Charlotte, Joshua Samuel Clark, Fairley Paul Clark both of the home; two daughters, Talisa Somwang Singletary and husband Derrick of Laurinburg, and Wirutvong Bligh and husband Damon of Fayetteville; a brother, Fairley Clark, Jr. and wife Cindy of Laurel Hill; and eight grandchildren, Zoey Clark Sue Clark, Sofi Clark, Liam Singletary, Sommai Singletary, Ramsey Clark, Pariyakorn Bligh, and Siriwan Bligh.
Born January 1, 1954, in Scotland County, he was the son of the late Fairley and Aileen Ray Smith Clark. Mr. Clark retired from the United States Army and a Chief Warrant Officer 3.
Dean was a member of the Huckabee Grove Emanuel Holiness Church in Laurel Hill. He was a loving person who loved to help people in whatever way he could. He was a member of the American Legion, and donated to various churches and Christian organizations. Mr. Clark enjoyed collecting old things such as guns, antiques, and coins.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday July 13, from 6 until 8:00 pm at McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.
