Mr. Hilburn "Pete" Barber, 75, of 336 East Covington St. died Monday, May 28, at Century Care.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church officiated by the Rev. L. D. Kimrey. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Park.

He is survived by his wife, Hazel Preslar Mullis Barber; a step-son, Parks Mullis and wife, Marsha of Laurinburg, a step-daughter, Barbara Bridger of Melbourne, Australia; two half brothers, Johnny Barber of Bennettsville and Lonnie Barber of Omaha, NE; two half sisters, Maxine Pell and Geraldine Johnson; four grandchildren, Alison Sizemore, Kelly McNeill, Ashley Kirk, and Robert Bridger; five great grandchildren, Will Sizemore, Owen Sizemore, Cole Sizemore, Aiden McNeill, and Grant McNeill.

Born October 18, 1931 in Scotland County, he was a son of the late Robert and Harriet Sanders Barber. Pete served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and was employed for over 30 years with the US Post Office in Laurinburg.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.
