Hester Lockhart McLean, 95, died Tuesday, October 20, 2009, at the Edwin Morgan Center.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium Chapel officiated by the Rev. Daniel "Buddy" Deaton. Burial will follow in Smyrna Cemetery.
She is survived by a daughter, Grace M. Beane and husband, Wayne of Knightdale; two sisters, Mae Stevens and Effie Scott of Hantsport, Nova Scotia; five grandchildren, Marie Conner and husband, Jack and Alan Beane and wife, Rose of Wake Forest, Stephanie Jessee and husband, Patrick of Apex; Laurie McLean of Mt. Grove, Mo, and Bruce McLean of California; two great grandchildren, Allie Grace Jessee and Lillie Marie Jessee; a special niece, Blanche Conner and husband, Harold of Lexington Park, MD..
Born January 11, 1914 in Avonport, Nova Scotia, she was a daughter of the late David H. and Lillian Hughes Lockhart and widow of the late John Dixon McLean. She was also preceded in death by her son, William Dixon "Billy" McLean. Hester was a retired seamstress.
Visitation will be 1-2 p.m. Saturday at McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.
