Mr. Herbie Jernigan, 53, died Monday January 15, 2007 at his home.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Thursday at McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium Chapel in Laurinburg with Rev. J.W. Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Crest Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife Dianne Ransom Jernigan of the home; three sons, Herbie Lee Jernigan, Jamie Lee Jernigan and Brandon Kyle Jernigan all of Laurel Hill; one daughter Misty LeAnn Jernigan of Laurel Hill; three brothers, Pete Jernigan of Amhearst, NY, Larry Jernigan of Eden, NY and Tommy Jernigan of McColl, SC; four sisters, Sue Mims and Judy Herring of Laurel Hill, Marcella Lovell and Vonnie Byrd of Gibson; six grandchildren, Taylor, Hunter, Shyan, Anthony, Austin, Shawn. He was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Jernigan and a grandson, Shane Jernigan.
Born August 21, 1953 in Scotland County, he is a son of O.J. Jernigan and the late Annie Black Jernigan. He was a Veteran of the US Army 82nd Airborne Division.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7-9 pm. at McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.
