Henry Donald Taylor

March 9, 1941 — April 11, 2012

Henry 'Don' Taylor, 71, of Laurinburg, N.C. passed away Wednesday April 11, 2012 at Moore Regional Hospital.

Don was born on March 9, 1941 in Carthage, North Carolina where he graduated from Farm Life High School in 1959. After graduating high school Don worked for McNeil Oil Company until moving to Laurinburg in 1965.

Upon arriving in Laurinburg Don went to work for Simmons Heating and Air, where he honed his skills in heating and air. After 10 years of service Don left Simmons to follow his dreams of owning his own business, and in 1975 opened the doors to Taylor heating and Air.

Don's passion for business and his love of people led to a successful business that is still thriving today. His generous spirit of philanthropy had a far- reaching effect that touched so many lives. He never hesitated to support churches, schools and civic organizations with a special place in his heart for veterans. This life's calling ensured that those in need of help received help.

Don, is survived by a two sons Mark Taylor of Laurinburg, Jamie Taylor of Pinehurst, North Carolina and a daughter Elizabeth Taylor of Laurinburg a Step-Son, Scott Ammons of Pembroke, North Carolina and a Step-Daughter Anita Taylor of Gaffney, South Carolina.

Also, surviving is a Grandson Ethan Taylor of Laurinburg, Granddaughter Makenna Taylor of McColl, South Carolina, Grandson John Ammons of Sumter. South Carolina and Granddaughter Jessica Ammons also of Sumter, South Carolina.

In his free time Don enjoyed spending time with family and friends, yard-work and NASCAR.
The family will receive family and friends at McDougald Funeral Home and crematorium on Saturday April 14 from 6-8 p.m.

The funeral will be held Sunday, April, 15 at 2:30 at The East Laurinburg Pentecostal Holiness Church with burial services at Oak Grove cemetery in Maxton, North Carolina.
