Henry Clarence Tapp, Jr., 57, passed away Saturday, March 19, at his home.
A private family burial will be Tuesday at Oakdale Cemetery, Wilmington. A memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 3, at the Hope Community Church in Cary.
He is survived by his wife, Julie Summers Tapp; his son, Andrew Kyle Tapp of Cary; his daughter, Catherine Alicia Tapp of Cary; his step son, Andrew Thomas Roberson of Cary; his step-daughters, Melissa Jean Roberson, and Sarahcate Roberson of Cary; his brothers, Lloyd (Buddy) Tapp of Cary, Steve Tapp of Durham, Neill Tapp of Lincolnton, and Mike Tapp of Salt Lake City, UT; and his sister, Margaret "Tish" Yahnker of Valencia, CA.
Born January 29, 1959 in Laurinburg, he was a son of the late Henry C. and Margaret Query Tapp. He was a 1977 graduate of Scotland High School where he was a member of the SHS 4A State Champions baseball team. He attended St. Andrews Univeristy on a baseball scholarship and later graduated in 1981.
Henry was a former Senior Tech Analyst for RBC Bank, a Senior Programmer for the National Commerce Corporation, project lead for CV Systems Card Management and Dispute Software along with other technical roles for financial services. Most recently he was the Senior Systems Programmer for the State Employee Credit Union.
He was active in the Hope Community Church ministries where he lead a small - but thriving group of Christians - that grew and multiplied into others.
