Helen Ellington, 94, formerly of Laurinburg, passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2017 at Autumn Care of Statesville.
Helen’s family would like to invite her close friends and extended family to join them to celebrate her life on Saturday, November 4, 2017 for a graveside service at 2:00 p.m. at Hillside Memorial Park, officiated by the Rev. Wayne Wike.
Born April 16, 1923 in Brown County, SD, She was the daughter of the late Arvid and Martha Helena Schultz Larson. Helen worked for the government in bookkeeping where she met her late husband of 55 years, Dr. John Ray Ellington Jr. They were married in 1947. She also worked as a secretary and bookkeeper for ESEA/Title 1 or 2 for Board of Education until her retirement.
She is survived by her son, Jim Ellington of Anchorage, AK; daughters, Lynn Ellington of Washington, DC and Nancy Ellington of Statesville, NC.
