Mrs. Helen Curtis Batten, 84, died Sunday October 12, 2008 at Scotland Memorial Hospital.
Graveside services will be conducted 3 PM Wednesday at Pine Crest Cemetery officiated by Rev. Patricia Stone.
Born June 13, 1924 in Scotland County, she was a daughter of the late Betty Howell Curtis. She is survived by two sons, Don J. Batten and wife , Linda of Gibson and Billie James Batten and wife, Lorraine of Newtonville; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Jackson "RJ" Batten.
Mrs. Batten was a homemaker until her children started school and then she was employed by Pinehurst Lingerie in Gibson until her retirement. Helen was loved by everyone and always got comments on her pretty blue eyes. She was always available and willing to help with the grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1 - 2:30 PM. at McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium prior to the graveside service.
