Hazelene Bowles McDonald, 92, of Candor passed away Friday, April 11, 2025 at Sandy Ridge Assisted Living Facility.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at Blackwood Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery, officiated by Pastor Jamie Biggs. The family will receive friends following the service in the cemetery.
Born November 18, 1932, in Montgomery County, she was the daughter of the late Charlie Alvin and Stella Gardner Bowles. Hazelene was a talented seamstress for over 50 years. She loved her family immensely and attended Little River United Methodist Church for many years.
She is survived by her son, Leon McDonald (Elaine) of Candor; grandson, Michael McDonald (Holly) of Troy; brothers, Rayvon (Louise) and Harvey Bowles (Sandra) both of Mt. Gilead; sister, Clara Hudson of Albemarle, along with several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Foy McDonald; brother, Alvin Bowles; and sisters, Annie Lou McLendon and Joyce Lee Bowles.
The family extends a special thanks to the staff at Sandy Ridge Assisted Living and Richmond County Hospice for their care and compassion.
