Mrs. Hazelene Smith Ellers, 79, of #6 Highland Terrace died Monday, November 6, at her home.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Spring Hill Baptist church officiated by the Rev. Van Ingram. Burial will follow in the family cemetery.

She is survived by two sons, Bernie Ellers and his wife, Cathy of Laurinburg and Bill Ellers and his wife, Kathi of Clinton; a brother, Paul Smith and his wife, Martha Ann of Wagram; 3 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Ellers was born September 1, 1921 in Scotland County and was a daugher of the late Reca Connelly and Emmitt C. Smith. She graduated from Spring Hill High School, Mars Hill Junior College and Meredith College. She taught school for many years in Scotland, Cumberland, and Wayne Counties. She was predeceased by her husband, B. E. Ellers.
